Connor has been with Pearl Audio for fourteen years. Connor has a lifelong love of high-end audio design and a background in academic science. Connor's science background makes him a strong expert in speaker and amplifier design, but he is also a bit of a golden ears, and a master at setup and system tuning.
As a six-year-old, Connor started drawing pictures of speaker boxes and drivers and putting them all over his room. When he was fifteen, he walked into our store and asked to hear some big gun hifi. He was polite, well-spoken, clearly in love with the equipment, and amazingly helpful. It quickly became evident that Connor knew more than any of us. We ultimately offered him a job, and to our amazement, he sold a big Linn system on his official first day, AND did a great job setting it up and supporting his new clients - they told us so! Years later, Connor still combines his early age love of high-end audio, his knowledge of science, a Chemistry degree, and a genuine caring for others to provide a wonderful purchasing and ownership experience.
Russ has been with Pearl Audio for fifteen years. Russ brings serene calm to our store. There can be phantoms, there can be fires on the road, and Russ will serenely and calmly acquire both the fire extinguisher and the anti-phantom fogger. Russ's 'do it right' work ethic, excellent musical ear, and talent for perfect customer service have already made him one of 'the greats'. Russ is as honest as the day is long.
Russ is also a mechanical wizard and our turntable specialist. He has completed both by-invite Linn LP12 Master's classes taught by Linn LP12 engineers. Over the years, he has built and upgraded countless Linn LP12s. Russ has also set up turntables and arms from Pro-ject, Rega, Clearaudio, Brinkmann, Kuzma, Graham, TW Akustic, Thorens, VPI, SOTA, SME, TechDAS, and Sears. Russ enjoys photography (Yes, he's that Russ from Glazers Camera in Seattle), birding, vintage auto rallies, and traveling extensively throughout the great Pacific Northwest.
John has been with Pearl Audio for twenty years. He is a turntable and computer audio specialist with over twenty years of high-end audio experience. John has set up turntables and arms from Linn, Pro-ject, Rega, Clearaudio, Brinkmann, Graham, Technics, VPI, SME, Basis, Well-Tempered, Merrell-Williams, Spiral Groove, Oracle, Feickert, Sumiko, Grace, Luxman, SOTA, Thorens, TechDAS, Fisher, Souther, and Tri-Planar. He's set up computer music systems with Linn DS, Aurender, Audio Research, McIntosh, Luxman, and Berkeley Audio Design. John is also the store's McIntosh guy - he loves anything with big Blue Meters and heartily approves of any stereo with at least 1000 watts of power.
Tara has been with Pearl Audio for fourteen years and is our Director of Marketing. Coming from a long line of musicians, Tara is a jazz saxophone player, and our name that tune dojo champion. Tara loves everything from Lady Day to Lady Gaga to the Muppets who sing, "Mahna Mahna." Tara enjoys concerts, cooking, writing, and good-natured malarkey. Tara has a heart of gold.
Tara grew up in Missoula, Montana, and the three corners of Idaho, where her music-loving mother and her music professor great-uncle mentored her lifelong love of classical music and opera. In the early 80s, Tara was a member of the Missoula Children's Theater, something that, to this day, doesn't show in the least.
