SONOS CONNECT:AMP

New life for your old speakers.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could stream music using the speakers you already own? With CONNECT:AMP you can–and you don’t even need a receiver. It turns your favorite pair of passive (aka non-powered, non-amplified) speakers into a streaming machine so you can teach them some amazing new tricks.

  • Brings music streaming to your favorite indoor or outdoor speakers.
  • More sonic punch. Built-in amplifier powers large or small speakers.
  • 55 W per channel at 8 Ohms.
  • RCA line-in for connecting a range of playback sources.
  • Subwoofer line-out.
  • Streams over wi-fi, not Bluetooth, so the music never stops – even if you get a phone call.
  • Connect Sonos to an Amazon Echo or Dot, then simply request the music you love.

A favorite use of this is for whole house audio.  We hide a few of these in a closet or other discrete location, run speaker wires through your walls/ceiling, and install some discrete in-ceiling or in-wall speakers.  One connect will power two in-wall or in-ceiling speakers.  You control it all from the Sonos App, so no on-wall plates/controllers. You can group/ungroup different CONNECT:Amps using the app which allows you play the same music throughout the whole house, or different music in different rooms.

Another use is as a small stereo that you control from an App.  Just attach your two bookshelf/tower speakers, and you have a complete stereo. You control it's music selection and volume from the Sonos App, and you can even attach other sources such as a turntable.

The Sonos Connect is priced at $499.
