Aurender N100H and N100C

The Aurender N100 is a digital music player which supports DSD (DSF, DFF), WAV, FLAC, ALAC, APE, AIFF, M4A and other major formats at native bit and sampling rates.

The N100H version is equipped with a high performance USB digital audio output, Ethernet port, 120GB solid-state drive for cached playback, and your choice of 2TB or 4TB music library storage, the N100 is the ideal solution for playing high resolution digital music collections from NAS.  When you play back a file on the Aurender N100, it loads the file from the large 2-4GB mechanical drive onto the superfast 120GB SSD and then plays back the music from the 120GB for fast, time accurate delivery to your DAC, resulting in better sound.

The N100 comes in four versions.  One consideration to make in choosing is that DSD's and DSD-2 do take up quite a bit of room.   DSD-Guide shows the sizes for 5 minute audio track at different resolutions.

N100H-2TB - has 120GB SSD and 2TB mechanical HD $2699.95

N100C-2TB - adds a digital coax output to H100H-2TB $3199.95

N100H-4TB  - $2999.95

N100C-4TB - $3499.95

The N100H-4TB is a great middle ground piece for most people because 4TB is a large enough 'storage tank' to hold a good sized playback library.  The local playback from this hard drive is very fast as it can load from an in-chassis mechanical drive to the 120GB SSD more quickly than a NAS, and is inherently very reliable since everything is all in one unit.  The N100H can access additional music via tidal or from a single NAS drive location on your home network. Note that the NAS drive location must go through an additional step for re-scanning vs the music on the internal Aurender hard drive.

Pearl Audio has an N100H-2TB and an N100H-4TB on display -  one in the big room and one in the little room. We use them for all of our McIntosh and Ayre digital audio based demonstrations for speakers, amplifiers, Dacs, you name it. In short we always want the Aurender as our digital source to make the best sound in our store.    We can think of no greater statement of endorsement!  For a USB DAC source they are absolutely, positively the best thing we've had in the store.
