Following are a few shots of our turntable magician Russ unboxing our new Ortofon MC Anna Diamond and setting it up on our TechDAS Air Force V turntable.

Shown below is the outer box and a Graham Phantom tonearm wand that's been unbolted from the main tonearm structure. You can have multiple wands for a given Graham tonearm, including different lengths - you can get 9", 10" and 12" wands and use them all on the same Graham Tonearm pillar structure.

Ortofon MC Anna Unboxing - the Cartridge Itself

On the MC Anna Diamond the cantilever itself is actually made of diamond which brings greater rigidity to the assembly over the standard MC Anna cartridge.

Graham Phantom Wand with Graham Jig and MC Anna

This is one of our favorite features of the Graham tonearms - you can actually remove the tonearm to do the placement and alignment which is much easier and safer for the cartridge.

The Graham tonearms have a brilliant overlay jig that allows you to align the cartridge using a built-in see-through alignment grid. You are seeing the wand of the Graham Phantom removed from the tonearm pillar and set flat on our setup bench.  Russ is being extremely careful right now!

The sound is absolutely spectacular!

We are running the MC Anna's 0.2 mV output into our Audio Research Reference Phono 3 SE tube phono stage then into our Audio Research Reference 6 SE tube preamplifier. Both of these have tubed power supplies and gain stages. A 0.2 mV output is quite low so being able to amplify that small of a signal with tubed electronics is quite something. The new Audio Research REF series has extremely low noise which is beneficial when you are adding so much voltage gain to such a small signal. The reason for the low output is to keep the number of coil windings down so you have a lighter stylus assembly with less inertia.
